Tahrir Typeface was designed for Persian and Arabic script based on Naskh calligraphy. It emphasizes readability and beauty, drawing inspiration from the formal structure of special characters. The design combines the attractiveness of the Arabic Naskh script with the superiority of the Iranian Naskh style. The typeface aims to serve as a fresh representation of Naskh calligraphy in printing.

In designing and implementing the typeface family, efforts have been made to adjust the letter height, size, and other proportions to meet the contemporary needs of graphic design and desktop publishing. Tahrir's overall pattern and gray texture are crafted for use in newspaper layouts, page design, book and magazine layouts, and, in general, for long printed texts. The typeface in darker weights is suitable for use as official title type in headlines, sections, and subheadings.

OpenType Features in the Tahrir Typeface

Tahrir Typeface has been designed and produced in the OpenType format, incorporating the features of this format. Tahrir enhances formal diversity by adjusting spacing and kerning to match the text and making use of composite characters available in the typeface. This brings a dynamic quality to the text, particularly contributing to the creation of layouts that are well-suited for newspaper settings.

Digital technology, by allowing for a wide range of characters and some additional symbols, precise diacritics, and the ability to use text alternatives, has improved text design in Tahrir. This, in turn, elevates the interaction and usage experience of the designer and user with the text typeface.

To activate these features, it is sufficient to enable the Standard Ligatures character in Adobe software's Character panel.
